Through a signed declaration, a total of 60 organizations, social movements and jurists from around the world, categorically denounced the attempted coup in Venezuela on January 23, where the deputy of the National Assembly in contempt, Juan Guaidó proclaimed himself as interim President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, violating the provisions of the Venezuelan Constitution.

After the illegitimate self-proclamation of the deputy of the National Assembly in contempt, which showed the true intentions and the actors that are in front of the coup d’etat against Venezuela, the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, described as incongruous the request made by some governments that “free elections” must take place.

The Workers Party of Ireland condemns the U.S. sponsored attempted coup against the democratically-elected government of Nicolás Maduro and the recognition of Juan Guaidó, who illegally and in contempt of the democratically expressed wishes of the people of Venezuela, announced himself as interim President of Venezuela, and received immediate recognition by the United States and its regional proxies Colombia, Brazil and other Lima Group nations.

A little more than 10 days before the inauguration of the Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, a debate has been generated regarding the legitimacy of this protocol act established in the national Constitution.

Countries subordinated to imperial interests, grouped in the self-called “Group of Lima”, intend to ignore the Head of State and impose their designs on the Venezuelan people, as the National President warned, during a press conference with international media, developed last Wednesday 09 January at the Miraflores Palace.

The All Workers Militant Front (PAME) condemns the USA-EU and their allies’ intervention in the internal affairs of Venezuela.

The operation of imposing a new «banana republic» in Venezuela is a terrible repetition of the bloody coups made with the support of the USA in Greece, Chile, Argentina, Brazil etc. To promote their imperialist plans, US-NATO-EU, support openly coup d’état, proceed to military threats and other measures against the Venezuelan people.

This Sunday, the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza granted an exclusive interview for the television station Russia Today (RT), in Spanish. The FM took advantage of this space to talk about various issues related to the rupture of diplomatic relations between Venezuela and the United States government, as well as spoke about the coup process that is currently underway in the Caribbean nation.

Through his Twitter account, @jaarreaza, the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza published a statement issued by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, which repudiates the recent statements of the European Union in which they intend to give an ultimatum to Venezuela, confirming their decision to join the coup d’etat orchestrated by the US government and the Venezuelan ultra-right.

The World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), representing 95 million workers of the five continents as well as the world class-oriented labor movement, strongly rejects the attempted coup d’état against the legitimate government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

This interference, orchestrated by the US government, NATO and the EU and executed by the representatives of the transnationals and monopolies in the country, constitutes a flagrant violation of the most elementary rules of international law and of the Venezuela’s sovereignty. For the WFTU, it is an inalienable right of each people to decide for themselves, without outside interventions, on their present and future.

It had been in the air for weeks, accompanied by a global media clamour and a failed coup d’état by a few military personnel, that the United States, the European Union and a few Latin American governments bound by interests in Venezuelan oil will throw a serious challenge to the legitimate government of Venezuela and its legitimate President Nicolas Maduro, confirmed in the recent elections by an overwhelming majority.
