The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, rejected the illegal sanctions announced this Friday by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the Treasury Department of the United States, against him.

This measure, contrary to international law and the Charter of the United Nations, makes clear the despair of the Trump administration against the Venezuelan government, said the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations through his Twitter account, @jaarreaza.

Given the growing pressure of the illegal blockade of the Trump administration, it is necessary to create spaces for dialogue, with this premise the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, participated this Thursday in a solidarity meeting in “The People’s Forum”, in rejection of the inhuman sanctions applied against the Venezuelan people.

The unilateral and coercive sanctions initiated by the government of former US President Barack Obama and intensified by the current administration of Donald Trump, has generated devastating effects on the people of Venezuela to such an extent that it threatens the lives of thousands of citizens motivated by the economic blockade that makes it impossible to the Venezuelan State to acquire raw materials, food and medical supplies, denounced the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, during a press conference at the UN, New York.

This Thursday, the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, held an important meeting with the president of the General Assembly of the United Nations, María Fernanda Espinosa, at the headquarters of the multilateral organization in New York.

On Tuesday, the head of State of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, received the German deputy, Andrej Hunko, at the Miraflores Palace.

Hunko is a member of the Commission for European Affairs, Foreign Policy, Budget and representative of the
Party Die Linke, left party that was born from the merger of the Democratic Socialism Party and the Electoral Alternative for Labor and Social Justice.

The Venezuela solidarity programme organized by the World Peace Council (WPC) and the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) was held in Venezuela on 12th, 13th and 14th of this month. The National Organizer of Socialist Students’ Union (SSU) Comrade Rangana Devapriya and Comrade Kalpana Madhushani of SSU who also functions as the Vice-President of WFDY participated on behalf of the SSU. The Member of the Central Committee of the JVP and the Organizer of the JVP Committee in Italy Comrade Sudath Adhikari also participated representing the Peace and Solidarity Organization Sri Lanka (PASOS).

The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, held on Wednesday, a meeting with the deputy of the Federal Parliament for the Die Linke Party, Andrej Hunko.During the meeting both representatives reaffirmed their commitment to defend and respect international law in favor of the strengthening of diplomatic relations between Germany and Venezuela.

A total of 13,810 Venezuelans who requested their voluntary incorporation have been repatriated to their country through the Plan Vuelta a la Patria.

This plan created by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, incorporated the modality of simultaneous flights to accelerate the repatriation process, following the repeated requests of the compatriots who migrated abroad.
