The Venezuela solidarity programme organized by the World Peace Council (WPC) and the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) was held in Venezuela on 12th, 13th and 14th of this month. The National Organizer of Socialist Students’ Union (SSU) Comrade Rangana Devapriya and Comrade Kalpana Madhushani of SSU who also functions as the Vice-President of WFDY participated on behalf of the SSU. The Member of the Central Committee of the JVP and the Organizer of the JVP Committee in Italy Comrade Sudath Adhikari also participated representing the Peace and Solidarity Organization Sri Lanka (PASOS).

A total of 13,810 Venezuelans who requested their voluntary incorporation have been repatriated to their country through the Plan Vuelta a la Patria.

This plan created by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, incorporated the modality of simultaneous flights to accelerate the repatriation process, following the repeated requests of the compatriots who migrated abroad.

The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, denounced the refusal of the government of Mauricio Macri, of the Argentine Republic, to grant the necessary permits for the flight of the Plan Vuelta a la Patria scheduled for this Friday.

Photo: MPPREPhoto: MPPREThe organizations attached to the World Peace Council (WPC) for the Americas and the Caribbean met this Thursday in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in an extraordinary session that allowed presenting a report of the current situation and the struggle in the continent in the context of the aggression by the US government and its European allies.

This Thursday, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs described as “sinister” the plans that the United States government intends to present to the United Nations (UN), through a resolution to recognize its protege, Juan Guaidó, as president of Venezuela.

“Russia urged the US to refuse the military option as a solution to the situation in Venezuela”, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman María Zajárova.

On the basis of the primary responsibility of the Security Council, the permanent representative of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the United Nations (UN), Samuel Moncada, demanded on Wednesday the organ to determine the illegality of the economic measures adopted by the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom to the detriment of the Latin American country.

This Wednesday, the president of the Red Cross, Peter Maurer, said that the cooperation with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is neutral, impartial and independent. “Our approach is to respond to the needs of the population and we do not link our work to politics”, Maurer said at a press conference held in the capital.
